Add Text to a PDF
Fill a blank in a form, add a date or write a short note by clicking directly on the page preview. Each click places your current text, which you can then drag into position.

How to use Add Text to a PDF
- Upload a PDF; the first page appears in a preview below.
- Enter the Text to place and choose Font size and Colour.
- Click on the page where the text should start; drag it to fine-tune, or double-click it to delete.
- Use Prev and Next to move between pages and repeat, then click Save PDF.
Filling in a PDF by hand
The preview is a rendered image of the page, while your text boxes float above it. When you save, each item is written into the real PDF with pdf-lib at the matching position, using the size and colour it had when you placed it. The rest of the document is not re-rendered, so the original stays sharp and searchable.
This works well for non-fillable application forms, adding a reference number to a scanned letter, or writing a name and roll number on a downloaded answer sheet template before printing.
Limitations
- Text is drawn in Helvetica, which supports English and other Latin characters only; Devanagari and other Indian scripts cannot be added.
- Each placement is a single line; there is no word wrap or multi-line box.
- Existing text in the PDF cannot be edited or erased, only written over.
Frequently asked questions
How do I place two different pieces of text?
Place the first one, then change the Text to place field and click again. Earlier items keep their own wording, size and colour.
Can I make text bold?
No. Only regular Helvetica is available; increase the font size or pick a darker colour for emphasis.
Is the form I fill in kept anywhere?
Only in your open browser tab. The PDF is edited locally and nothing is saved on a server.
