Split PDF
Break one PDF into several smaller files: one per page, equal chunks of N pages, or ranges you type yourself. Each part is copied page-for-page, so text stays selectable and nothing is re-compressed.

How to use Split PDF
- Drop a single PDF into the upload box.
- Pick a Split mode: every page into its own PDF, every N pages, or custom ranges.
- For custom ranges, type groups separated by commas, for example 1-3, 4-6, 7-end. Each group becomes one file.
- Click Split PDF, then download the parts one by one or use Download all (ZIP).
How splitting works
The tool reads your file with the pdf-lib library and copies the chosen pages into fresh documents. Because pages are copied rather than redrawn, fonts, links inside the page content and image quality are kept as they were. Output files are named after the original plus the page numbers they hold, such as notes-4-6.pdf, which makes them easy to sort later.
Splitting is handy when a portal caps upload size, when a long admit-card bundle or coaching handout needs to be shared chapter by chapter, or when you only want to send one annexure from a larger report. The word end in a range always means the last page, so 10-end works without knowing the page count.
Limitations
- Only one PDF can be split at a time.
- Bookmarks and form fields from the original are not carried into the parts.
- Password-protected PDFs may fail or give unreadable output; remove the password first.
Frequently asked questions
Can one page appear in two of the output files?
Yes. In custom-range mode each comma-separated group is independent, so 1-5, 5-10 puts page 5 in both files.
What happens with every N pages if the count does not divide evenly?
The last file simply holds the leftover pages. A 10-page PDF split every 3 pages gives files of 3, 3, 3 and 1 page.
Does my PDF leave my computer?
No. The splitting runs in JavaScript inside your browser tab and the parts are created locally.
