How to use Convert Excel to PDF
- Upload one .xlsx, .xls, .ods or .csv file.
- Choose Orientation; Landscape is the default for wide sheets.
- Set the Font size (8 by default) and decide whether to keep All sheets ticked or only convert the first.
- Click Convert to PDF and download the result.
How sheets become tables
SheetJS reads the workbook and each sheet's cell values, skipping completely empty rows. The jsPDF AutoTable plugin then draws a table with a shaded header row and continues it across pages when it runs long. Values come through as they are stored, so formula cells show their last calculated result.
This is useful for sharing a fee schedule, an attendance register or a mock test score tracker with people who do not have spreadsheet software, or for printing a sheet that keeps spilling awkwardly across pages in Excel.
Limitations
- Cell colours, merged cells, borders, charts and images are not reproduced; it produces a plain styled table.
- Very wide sheets squeeze columns; reduce the font size or remove columns before converting.
- Values are printed as text: dates appear as YYYY-MM-DD and numbers as Excel formats them, but fonts and colours are not copied. Sheets containing Hindi or other non-Latin text stop with a message, because the built-in PDF font cannot draw them.
Frequently asked questions
Does each sheet start on a new page?
Yes. With All sheets ticked, every sheet begins on a fresh page with its name printed above the table.
Is the first row always treated as the header?
Yes. The first non-empty row is styled as the header and the rest form the table body.
Does my spreadsheet leave the computer?
No. Reading the workbook and building the PDF both happen in your browser.
