How to use Convert GIF to PDF

  1. Upload your .gif files.
  2. Put them in order with the up and down arrows.
  3. Select Page size, Orientation and Margin (pt).
  4. Set Image quality and click Create PDF to download.

How GIFs are handled

The browser decodes each GIF and the tool draws its first frame onto a canvas, then stores that frame in the PDF as a JPEG. PDF pages cannot play animation, so an animated GIF appears as a single still picture.

GIF still shows up in older archives, clip-art collections and some scanned maps saved years ago. Wrapping them in a PDF makes them simple to print or attach to a report alongside other pages.

Limitations

  • Animation is lost; only the first frame is used, not every frame.
  • GIF's 256-colour palette limits quality to begin with, and transparency becomes white.
  • Small GIFs scaled up to A4 will look pixelated.

Frequently asked questions

Can I turn every frame of an animated GIF into a page?

Not with this tool. It takes one frame per file. You would need to split the GIF into separate images first.

Why are colours a little different?

GIF colours are converted to JPEG inside the PDF, which can slightly shift flat colour areas. Raise Image quality to reduce this.

Where does the conversion take place?

On your device. The GIF files are not sent to any server.
