How to use JSON to CSV Converter
- Drop one or more .json files into the box.
- Click Convert to CSV.
- Review the CSV in the result box, copy it, or download it.
How the JSON is flattened
If the file is a top-level array, each element becomes a row. If it is an object, the first property holding an array (for example {"data": [...]}) is used; a plain object becomes a single row. Nested objects expand into columns such as user.name, arrays of plain values are joined with "; ", and arrays of objects are kept as JSON text inside one cell.
This handles typical exports from forms, analytics tools and REST APIs, letting non-programmers sort and filter the data in a spreadsheet.
Limitations
- Column headings come from the first record only; fields that appear only in later records are left out, so make sure the first item has every key.
- Deeply nested arrays of objects stay as JSON strings in one cell rather than becoming separate rows.
- Invalid JSON (trailing commas, comments, single quotes) is rejected with a parse error.
Frequently asked questions
My JSON is wrapped like {"results": [...]}. Will it work?
Yes. The converter looks for the first array inside the object and uses it as the rows.
Why is a field missing from my CSV?
Headings are taken from the first object. Add that field, even as null, to the first record and convert again.
How are lists like tags handled?
A list of strings or numbers becomes one cell with the items separated by semicolons.
Is the file processed privately?
Yes. The JSON is parsed by your browser and never uploaded.
