OGG to MP3 Converter

How to use OGG to MP3 Converter
- Drop one or several .ogg files into the upload area.
- Listen to the first file in the preview player if you want to check it.
- Press Convert to MP3.
- Download the MP3 results one by one or grab them all as a ZIP.
From Ogg to MP3, step by step
Ogg is a container. Inside it you will usually find Vorbis (common in games and Linux apps) or Opus (used by many voice-note and calling apps). FFmpeg decodes either one and re-encodes to MP3 with libmp3lame -q:a 2, a VBR setting averaging around 190 kbps.
Because both sides are lossy, the conversion adds a second round of compression. For speech that is rarely audible. For music, keep the original OGG as your master copy and treat the MP3 as a compatibility copy for devices that need it.
Limitations
- Only files ending in .ogg are accepted; rename .oga or .opus files only if you know they are Ogg containers.
- Low-bitrate voice notes will become larger as MP3, because the output is encoded near 190 kbps regardless of the source.
- Phones decode and encode far more slowly than desktop browsers.
Frequently asked questions
Can it convert Opus voice notes saved as .ogg?
Yes. FFmpeg includes an Opus decoder, so an .ogg file holding Opus audio converts the same way as Vorbis.
Why is the MP3 bigger than my OGG?
Voice notes are often recorded at very low bitrates. The MP3 is encoded at a music-quality VBR level, so it can be several times larger.
Do I need to install anything?
No. The converter runs in the browser; it fetches the FFmpeg engine once and your browser caches it.
