How to use GIF to JPG Converter

- Choose a JPEG Quality between 10 and 100; 90 is preset.
- Set Background for transparent areas if the GIF has clear pixels.
- Click Convert to JPG, then download.
From palette GIF to full-colour JPG
A GIF stores up to 256 colours and can mark one of them as transparent. JPG stores full colour but no transparency. When converting, the GIF is drawn onto a canvas over your chosen background colour, so clear areas become solid, and the result is saved as a JPEG at the quality you set. For an animated GIF, the canvas captures a single frame, normally the first.
Because GIF images are often small graphics or reaction clips, the JPG version is mostly used as a preview image, a still for a report, or an attachment where the receiving system lists only JPG. Flat-colour GIF artwork can pick up slight JPEG fuzz around sharp edges; raising the quality toward 95 keeps those edges cleaner.
Limitations
- Animated GIFs give only one frame; you cannot choose which frame.
- Transparent areas become the background colour.
- Hard-edged pixel art may show faint JPEG artefacts at lower quality.
Frequently asked questions
Which frame of an animated GIF do I get?
The browser draws the frame it has decoded first, which is normally the opening frame. There is no frame picker.
Will the colours look better as JPG?
They will look the same. JPG can hold more colours, but it cannot recover shades the GIF palette never stored.
Why is there white around my sticker?
That was the GIF's transparent area. Change the background colour before converting to blend it with your design.
Is the GIF processed on a server?
No. The conversion runs inside your browser and the file stays on your device.
