How to use MP3 to OGG Converter

  1. Drag your .mp3 files into the drop area (multiple are fine).
  2. Optionally preview the first file.
  3. Press Convert to OGG.
  4. Download the .ogg files or the combined ZIP.

Why developers want OGG

The tool uses libvorbis with -q:a 5, a variable-bitrate setting with a nominal rate near 160 kbps. Vorbis is royalty-free and loops cleanly, which is why game engines such as Godot and many indie projects prefer it for music and effects.

Remember this is a lossy-to-lossy step. If you have the original WAV or FLAC, encode from that instead for the best result. For voice clips and background music made from MP3, the difference is usually negligible.

Limitations

  • Output is always Vorbis; Opus-in-Ogg is not offered.
  • Older iPhones and some Safari versions have limited Ogg support, so keep MP3 for maximum compatibility.
  • ID3 tags are not reliably mapped to Vorbis comments.

Frequently asked questions

What quality does the OGG use?

Vorbis quality 5 (variable bitrate, around 160 kbps nominal), a common setting for music.

Will the OGG be smaller than my MP3?

It depends on the source. A 320 kbps MP3 will usually shrink; a 96 kbps MP3 may grow.

Is anything stored online?

No. Encoding happens on your machine through FFmpeg running in the page.
