TIFF to JPG Converter

Shrinks heavy TIFF scans into JPGs that email, phones and upload portals handle easily. The TIFF is decoded by a JavaScript library in the page, so even browsers that cannot display TIFF work.

How to use TIFF to JPG Converter

  1. Add .tif or .tiff files with Choose files or drop them here.
  2. Pick a Quality value; 90 keeps scanned text readable.
  3. Optionally change Background for transparent areas for TIFFs with an alpha channel.
  4. Click Convert to JPG and download the results.

From archival TIFF to everyday JPG

Scanners, fax software and professional cameras often write TIFF because it can store uncompressed or losslessly compressed images at high bit depths. Those files are huge and most browsers cannot even show them. This tool reads the TIFF with the UTIF library, converts it to standard 8-bit RGBA, and encodes a JPEG at your chosen quality, typically cutting file size dramatically.

Students digitising mark sheets, certificates or ID proofs on an office scanner often end up with TIFFs, while application portals want JPG. Converting here bridges that gap. For documents, a quality around 85 to 92 keeps small print legible; check the resulting size, then compress or resize further if a portal sets a KB limit.

Limitations

  • Only the first page or image of a multi-page TIFF is converted.
  • 16-bit or high bit-depth TIFFs are reduced to 8 bits per channel.
  • Very large scans need plenty of device memory, as the whole image is decoded at once.

Frequently asked questions

My TIFF has several pages. Are they all converted?

No, only the first page. For multi-page scans, split the pages in your scanner software or use a PDF tool for documents.

Why can't I see a thumbnail of my TIFF in the list?

Most browsers cannot display TIFF directly, so the file list shows only the name and size. Conversion still works because the tool decodes TIFF itself.

Will scanned text stay readable?

At quality 85 or above it usually does. Lower settings blur fine print.

Are my scans uploaded?

No. The TIFF is decoded and re-encoded inside your browser, so documents stay on your device.
