Add a Border to an Image
Put a clean, solid frame around your pictures. Set the thickness in pixels, choose any colour and, if you like, round the corners of both the frame and the photo.

How to use Add a Border to an Image
- Upload one or more images.
- Enter Border size (px); the default is 20.
- Pick a Colour with the colour selector.
- Optionally set Corner radius (px) above zero for rounded corners, then press Apply & Download.
How the frame is added
The border is added outside the picture rather than painted over it, so none of your image is hidden. A 1000 × 800 photo with a 20 px border becomes 1040 × 840. When a corner radius is set, the photo is clipped to rounded corners and the frame follows the same curve, leaving transparent space at the outer corners.
White borders give printed photos a gallery look, and a thin dark frame helps a light screenshot stand out in a document or slide. Matching a brand colour is easy because the picker accepts any shade.
Limitations
- Only a single solid colour is supported; there are no gradients, patterns or shadows.
- Border thickness is in absolute pixels, so the same value looks thinner on a large photo than on a small one.
- With rounded corners the file is saved as PNG to keep the corners transparent, which can increase file size.
Frequently asked questions
Does the border cover part of my photo?
No. The canvas is enlarged by twice the border size in each direction, so the whole picture stays visible.
Why did my JPG become a PNG?
That happens only when Corner radius is above zero, because the rounded outer corners need transparency.
What border size should I choose?
Around 2–3% of the image width usually looks balanced; for a 2000 px wide photo, try 40–60 px.
