Make a Round Image
Turn any picture into a circular cut-out or a soft rounded rectangle. The area outside the shape becomes transparent, so the result sits neatly on any background.

How to use Make a Round Image
- Add your photo (or several).
- Choose Shape: Circle or Rounded corners.
- For rounded corners, drag Corner radius % between 1 and 50.
- Press Apply & Download to save a transparent PNG.
How the circle is framed
In Circle mode the image is trimmed to a square based on its shorter side, centred, and then clipped to a circle that touches all four edges. A landscape photo therefore loses equal strips from the left and right; a portrait loses some top and bottom. Rounded corners mode keeps the full frame and only softens the corners, with 50% giving a pill or capsule shape.
Because the outside is transparent, the output is always PNG. Round images suit profile pictures, presentation slides, team pages and WhatsApp group icons, where a square photo can look boxy.
Limitations
- The circle is always centred; you cannot slide it to off-centre faces. Crop the photo first if the subject is near an edge.
- Output is PNG, which can be larger than the original JPG.
- Edges are anti-aliased by the browser, but very small images may still look slightly jagged.
Frequently asked questions
My face is not in the middle. What can I do?
Crop the image so the face is centred first, then run it through this tool.
Why is the result PNG and not JPG?
JPG cannot hold transparency, so the corners outside the circle would turn white. PNG keeps them clear.
Can I add a coloured background behind the circle?
Not here. The Profile Photo Maker places a cut-out subject on a coloured circle if you need that look.
