How to use Add Text to an Image
- Upload a photo.
- Type your words in the Text box and set Size (% of width); 8% is the default.
- Choose a text Colour and Outline colour, or untick Outline on for plain text.
- Pick a Position (Top, Center, Bottom, Bottom left or Bottom right) and press Apply & Download.
Making captions readable
Text is drawn in a bold Impact-style typeface, falling back to Arial Black or another bold sans-serif if Impact is not installed. Because the size is a percentage of the image width, 8% on a 1200 px photo gives letters roughly 96 px tall, and the same setting looks proportionate on a smaller image.
An outline in a contrasting colour, such as white text with a black edge, keeps captions legible on busy backgrounds. It works well for labelling diagrams in study notes, adding dates to event photos or making simple quote graphics.
Limitations
- Only one line of text is supported; long captions do not wrap and can run off the edges, so reduce the size.
- You cannot drag the text freely or choose a different font.
- The typeface depends on fonts installed on your device, so the look can vary slightly between computers and phones.
Frequently asked questions
Can I add two separate lines?
Not in one pass. Add the first line, download, then run the result through again with a different position for the second.
Will a logo or watermark be added?
No. Only the text you type appears on the image.
Can I write in Hindi or other Indian scripts?
Usually yes, if your device has a font for that script; the browser falls back to a system font that supports the characters.
