How to use Change Background Colour

  1. Upload your photo.
  2. Pick a Background colour; white is the default.
  3. Press Remove background; on first use the AI model downloads before processing starts.
  4. Download the finished JPG.

Using it for form and ID photos

An in-browser segmentation model separates you from the original scene, then the cut-out is laid over a rectangle filled with your colour. The result is saved as JPG, the format most application portals expect. The image keeps its original dimensions, so you may still need to crop or resize to the exact size a form demands.

This is useful when a home photo has a patterned wall or doorframe behind you and the form asks for a plain light background. Read the official instructions for colour, size and file-size limits before using an edited photo for any government or exam application.

Limitations

  • Hair edges and loose clothing can look slightly cut-out, especially against a contrasting new colour.
  • Lighting and shadows on the subject are not adjusted to match the new background.
  • The first run needs internet to download the model, and large photos are slow on low-end phones.

Frequently asked questions

Will this make my photo meet exam requirements?

It only changes the background. Dimensions, file size, face position and recency rules still need checking against the official notice.

How do I get an exact shade of blue?

Open the colour selector and type the HEX code your form or ID specifies.

Does my photo leave my phone?

No. The model runs in the browser and the edited JPG is created on your device.
