How to use Photo Collage Maker

  1. Add two or more photos and arrange them with the up and down arrows.
  2. Enter the number of Columns (3 by default); rows are added automatically.
  3. Set Cell size (px), Gap (px) and a Background colour.
  4. Choose JPG, PNG or WEBP and press Make collage.

How the grid is built

Each cell is a square of the size you set, 600 px by default. Photos are scaled so they completely cover their square and then centred, which means the edges of wide or tall photos are trimmed. Images fill the grid left to right, top to bottom, in the order shown in your file list.

The final width equals the columns times the cell size plus all the gaps. Three columns of 600 px with a 10 px gap gives a 1840 px wide collage. Collages work well for event recaps, festival greetings, class memories and social posts.

Limitations

  • All cells are square; mixed layouts, templates or one large feature photo are not available.
  • Parts of non-square photos are cropped off to fill their cells, and you cannot reposition them.
  • If the photo count does not fill the last row, the remaining cells show the background colour.

Frequently asked questions

How many photos can I add?

There is no fixed cap, but each one is held in memory. Around 20–30 phone photos is comfortable on most devices.

Why are the edges of my photos cut off?

Each photo is cropped to fill a square cell. Crop your photos to squares first if you want to choose exactly what stays.

What cell size should I use for Instagram?

For a 3-column collage close to 1080 px wide, try a cell size of about 350 px with a 5 px gap.
