Image Colour Picker
Load a picture, click a spot, and get that pixel's colour as a HEX code and an RGB value, with a swatch and a one-tap copy button.
✓ No upload · ✓ No sign-up · ✓ No watermark
How to use Image Colour Picker
- Choose an image such as a logo, screenshot or photo.
- Click or tap the exact spot whose colour you want.
- Read the HEX and rgb() values beside the swatch.
- Press Copy HEX to put the code on your clipboard.
Getting accurate colour codes
The image is drawn at full resolution onto a canvas, and your click position is mapped back to the real pixel even when the picture is displayed smaller on screen. The tool then reads the red, green and blue values of that one pixel and shows them as a six-digit HEX code and an rgb() triplet.
Designers use this to match a brand colour from a logo, students to pick colours for a project poster, and developers to copy a shade from a mock-up into CSS. Sample flat areas of colour rather than edges, where pixels blend with neighbouring colours.
Limitations
- Only one pixel is sampled; there is no averaging, so photo noise or JPG artefacts can give a slightly off shade.
- No palette extraction or history; each click replaces the previous result.
- Transparency is not reported; only the RGB channels are shown.
Frequently asked questions
Why do nearby clicks give different codes?
Photos and JPGs contain tiny variations between neighbouring pixels. Pick from the centre of a flat area, or use a PNG logo for consistent results.
Can I get CMYK values for printing?
No, only HEX and RGB. Convert the RGB value with a colour converter if your printer needs CMYK.
Does it work on phones?
Yes. Tap the image to sample a colour; zoom the page first for precise selection on small screens.
