Image Splitter

Cut a single picture into equal tiles by choosing rows and columns. Each tile is saved as its own file, labelled by position, and all of them come together in one ZIP.

How to use Image Splitter

  1. Add the image you want to divide.
  2. Enter the number of Rows and Columns (1 to 20 each; 3 × 3 by default).
  3. Preview shows the first tile; press Apply & Download.
  4. Use Download all (ZIP) to get every tile in one go.

Common ways to use split tiles

The image width is divided by the column count and the height by the row count, giving tiles of equal size. Files are named with their row and column, for example photo-2-3, meaning second row, third column, which makes reassembly or posting in order straightforward.

A 3-column split turns a wide panorama into an Instagram profile grid that reads as one picture. Splitting a large chart or map into 2 × 2 or 3 × 3 tiles lets you print it across several A4 sheets and tape them together for a wall poster or classroom display.

Limitations

  • Tiles are always equal; you cannot set custom cut lines or overlaps for printing.
  • If dimensions do not divide evenly, tile sizes are rounded and edge tiles may differ by a pixel.
  • Only the first tile appears in the preview, so check your row and column choice carefully.

Frequently asked questions

How do I split a photo for an Instagram grid?

Set Columns to 3 and Rows to 1, 2 or 3. Upload the tiles starting from the last one, because Instagram shows the newest post first.

Is there a limit on tiles?

Up to 20 rows and 20 columns, so 400 tiles at most. Very large grids on big images can take a while to zip.

Can I split several images at once?

Yes. Each image is split with the same grid, and all tiles are included in the ZIP.
